Appointed Headmistress of the National School (Infants' Department), Birstall, Leeds in September 1926.

In 1939 – 

She is at 62 Woodlands Drive, Harrogate. Ethel is listed as ‘Teacher’. Her sister, Alice, is listed as ‘Teacher (Retired)’. Her sister, Sophia, is unlisted.
