She is at 42 Cambridge Street, Birmingham. Her father is listed as ‘Commercial Clerk’. Jessie, her mother and sister, Matilda, are unlisted. Alfred Armstrong (b. 1842), a boarder, is listed as ‘Commercial Clerk’. There is a servant, Louisa Till (b. 1844).

In 1871 – 

She is at Wheeley Road, Edgbaston. Her father is listed as  ‘Commercial Traveller’. Jessie, her mother and siblings (Matilda, Ann, Emily and Margaret) are unlisted. There are two servants, Emily West (b. 1850) and Fanny Day (b. 1857).

In 1881 – 

She is at LDTC as a Student. 

In 1891 –

She is at Sussex Avenue, Ashford. Jessie is listed as ‘Governess’. 

In 04/00 – 

Address is Milton Crescent, Church Road, South Yardley, Birmingham. 

In 1901 – 

She is at 34 Charlotte Road, Edgbaston, Kings Norton, Her mother is listed as widow and ‘Living On Own Means’. Her sister, Margaret, is unlisted. Jessie is listed as ‘Head Mistress of Church School’. 

In 1921 – 

She is at 4 Wellington Road, Birkenhead as a visitor. The head of the household, Edwin Henry Mountford (b. 1871), is listed as ‘Dental Surgeon’. His wife, Ellen Douglas Mountford (b. 1871), and son, Laurence Oliver Mountford (b. 1909), are unlisted. Jessie is listed as a visitor and ‘School Mistress Retired’. 

In 1939 – 

She is at Mill House Dulas, Longtown, Dore and Bredwardine. Edwin Mountford (b. 1871) is listed as ‘Retired Dentist’. Ellen Mountford (b. 1871) is unlisted. Her sister, Matilda, is now listed as ‘Madeline – Sister of Community’. Jessie and her sister, Emily, are listed as ‘Retired Teacher’.
