She is at Pateley Bridge, Yorkshire. Her father is listed as ‘Flax Dresser’. Mary and her mother are unlisted. 

In 1861 – 

She is at South Parade, Yorkshire. Her father is listed as ‘Flax Dresser’. Her mother is unlisted. Mary is listed as ‘Infant Schoolmistress’.

In 1871 – 

She is at Victoria Place, Halliwell, Lancashire. Mary is listed as ‘School Mistress of School’. 

In 1881 –

She is at 95 Duke Street, Barrow in Furness. Mary is listed as ‘Mistress of Private School’. Agnes Entwistle (b. 1863) and Annie Walton (b. 1865) are unlisted boarders. There are two servants, Mary Jane O’Neill (b. 1859) and Emily Tilburn (b. 1867).  

In 1891 –

She is at Ladies School, Portinscale, Cockermouth. Mary is listed as ‘Schoolmistress’. There are 5 pupils and 3 older students. There are two servants, Esther Harker (b. 1858) and Sarah Billas (b. 1865).  

In 1891 - 

She has a bankruptcy case in court mentioned in the press. 

In 1901 – 

She is at Station Villas, Station Road, Turvey, Bedfordshire. Mary, Reginald Carty (b. 1872), Gertrude Carty (b. 1879), Margaret Cook (b. 1833) and Archibald Cook (b. 1872) are unlisted. There is a servant, Emily A Sargent (b. 1882).

In 10/15 – 

Presumably the Editors Notes who describe a student who is over 70 years old and is in Egypt and is incapacitated is Mary.

In 1921 – 

She is at St Johns Home, Grand Drive, Merton. Apart from her name and age the rest of the census return has been filled in with ‘unknown’ (the same with other residents at the home).
