She is at 65 Westgate, New Sleaford. Her stepfather is listed as ‘Publican and Grocer’. Jane, her mother and siblings (Ann, Catherine, John, Mary and Reginald) are unlisted. There is a servant, Lizzie Howitt (b. 1864). 

In 1891 – 

She is at St Chads Church, Ryland Lane, Dunholme. Jane is listed as ‘School Mistress’. Her sister, Mary, is listed as ‘Housekeeper’. 

In 10/01 – 

Address is St. Peter's Home, Grahamstown.

In 04/08 – 

A letter she wrote from Enhlonhlweni, Ladysmith, Natal is published and mentioned Alice Churm and Kate Charlton [LDTC 1887]. 

In 1911 – 

She is at Sudbrook Hill, Grantham. Her brother-in-law, James Mitchell (b. 1872), is listed as ‘Farmer’. Her sister, now Mary Louisa Mitchell, her nieces, Marjorie Mitchell (b. 1903), Norah Mitchell (b. 1904), Jane Isobel Mitchell (b. 1907) and her nephew, Bruce Mitchell (b. 1909), are unlisted. Jane is listed as ‘School Mistress’. There are two farm servants, Nimrod Western (b. 1890) and Fred Western (b. 1891) and a domestic servant, Annie Castledine (b. 1895).
