She is at 26 Albert Street, Northampton. Her stepfather is listed as ‘Provision Dealer’. Her mother and sister, Charlotte, are unlisted. Sophia is listed as ‘Pupil Teacher’. 

In 1871 –

She is at LDTC and listed as ‘Governess’. 

In 1881 – 

She is at Mount Pleasant, Cranley, Surrey. Her husband is listed as ‘Schoolmaster’. Sophia and her children, Godfrey and Gertrude, are unlisted. Eliza Denton (b. 1851) [LDTC 1871] is listed as ‘Governess in County School’. There are three servants: Catherine Maynard (b. 1859), Alice Lee (b. 1863) and Laura Chandler (b. 1843).

She is at Mount Pleasant, Cranleigh, Surrey. Her husband is listed as ‘Assistant Master Surrey County School’. Sophia and her children, Godfrey and Gertrude, are unlisted. There are two servant, Laura Chandler (b. 1842) and Letitia Bilinghurst (b. 1874).

She is at New Park Road, Cranleigh. Sophia is listed as a widow and ‘Private Means’. Her daughter, Gertrude, is listed as ‘Teaching’. There is a servant, Harriett Mabel Boltin (b. 1893). 

In 05/19 – 

Death recorded as 01.12.18 in her sleep at Cranleigh. Magazine mentions she was on the staff in 1870s.
